I agree with Washing Machine.

Especially about being 14 and being turned on to new music by them. They really were the band to originally wake me out of my suburban classic rock slumber. They were the reason why I looked through my brothers music and got me directly turned on to Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, Joy Division, The Velvet Underground, and Radiohead while I was in high school.

Yeah, they got shitty after Melon Collie. Yeah, I've grown out of the melodramatic lyrics and power chords. Yeah, Corgan is a douche. Yeah, this isn't really a reunion. But they'll always be important to me.
