I wore sandals and socks during the holiday drive to Italy, because I thought it was more comfortable compared to the no-sock alternative. Personally, I think, that sandals worn without socks are not necessarily that much more aesthetic than sandals worn with them. Furthermore I think, people who proclaim the "sandals + socks = sacrilege"-dogma are very boring dialog partners.
