i made the million polls to make a point on how stupid it was to make polls pitting one sy album against the other. i even told thurston hunger that it was very simplistic, it's not like he made a thread for every album so we could discuss them he put this threads that were like "ssd's get it away vs captain beefheart's trout mask replica; which one do you like the most?". plus i think the board has been really slow on good threads, so why not just have fun.
like truncated has said, the sy gossip section is all "i love sonic youth, wow yeah!!! you guys rock!!!"; we haven't had a descent conversation about them in this new board since it started.
don't you think the daily million "rather ripped" and "gilmore girls" threads aren't troll-like? i find most real sy-related threads to be a bad joke and are offensive to me.
if people are being dumb, why not have fun period? if you can't see the humor in what i did, then i'm really sorry for you.
by the way, the "annoying vocals" thread wasn't a joke one, i was thinking about doing for a long time.
