Although, to be fair, I can't imagine people outside of the Westcountry using it and not sounding like a prick.
I'm a big fan of slang. As mode of expression rather than quasi-ironic. But one must be careful, you can easily come across like a prick. I think, in fairness, my slang more comes under the caveat of sociolect than it does contrivance.
