This is true, and as much as I love the band (I was a huge Green River fan when I lived in Seattle, and I went to school with Steve Turner in Bellingham when he was between Green River and Mudhoney, and we're still friends) I can't say they've ever done a very good "album". They are at their best as a punk rock singles band, and they haven't tried particularly hard to be that since the early days. "Touch Me I'm Sick" is one of the best rock singles ever.
