Seeing Airiel play last night ruined my weekend pretty good. I hadn't heard of them before and they were on the bill at a show I was at already, so I figured I would check them out.
No points for originality; complete Slowdive/shoegaze type music all the way, but originality isn't such a big deal with me if you execute your chosen area well.
The bass player was the one that ruined it for me; total "guitar center" bass tone, overplaying, clacky, and with a melodic sense that I couldn't hang with. At least they were loud.
