me: weird rock, pretty much anything rock and some other genres, but mainly rock.
them: you like punk?
me: yeah, green day and fall out boy aren't punk, they are pop, bad pop at that. i like good pop too.

me: everything.
them: everything?
me: yeah
them: so you like -insert ridiculous kind of music-?
me: i don't listen to it a lot, or don't like most of it, but i do like when i hear a good song done in that style.
you'd be surprised how many people actually want to know about music they miss out on because they don't get to investigate and find it; also, i have been very surprised when people tell me what they are into.

me: mostly finnish and japanese stuff, you wouldn't know about them.
