although it appears to be having the desired effect, you yrself can only put so much vested interest into statements like that (did you know that Disintegration was the Cure's last album too??).

I love Sparklehorse and I worship at the alter of Mark Linkous, and should something happen to him I would be destroyed (yeah, I'm totally fucking emo over Sparklehorse), but so much of the things that artists say are done in the name of their art.

as far as money goes, I'm not his accountant, but, I'm pretty sure the guy isn't working at McDonald's for a living.

and I'm sorry, the last thing I want to do here is mess with the picture you have in yr mind of the guy as being mysteriously dark and sad, but yeah, take it all "with a grain of salt".
