wouldn't that clip and cause a loss of audio quality? this furthers my argument against deluxe editions.

exactly, because they're trying to take stuff that was recorded in an analog format and intended for release on an analog format and compress the hell out of it to satisfy the pigs at the forefront of this so-called digital revolution. the CD is a pretty disposable format, if you ask me.
