because our city doesn't really cater to that sort of thing. everything in our "downtown" area (saving a few bars that are worthless) closes at about 6pm, so we'd have to drive around town to do much of anything special.

on one hand, i want to just do something simple and have fun or whatever, but on the other hand i want to do something fun and memorable, but not all garden-statey.
