Please, Benji is obviously the best.
I'm not stating that Benji movies are the best featuring an animal "actor," but Benji does things far more complicated onscreen than any other animal performer that I've ever seen. That is, in a relative sense, since Benji is a dog. Hmm, seems his real name is Higgins.
The runners-up include Lassie, Milo and Otis, Rin Tin Tin, Babe the pig, Clyde the orangutan, the horse from Black Beauty, and Freeway from TV's "Hart to Hart."
