ahhh, my young friend, you are making the very common mistake of thinking weddings and marriage are the same thing.
marriage is the commitmemnt between two people to combine their lives together.
weddings are the public ceremony that is given so your parents, family, friends, and anyone else that cares about you or your spouse-to-be can come and share in the event, since after that moment you will no longer be you, but you and your wife, or you and your husband.
these are two different things.

weddings are as much or more for the guests and family than for the couple getting married. it helps to see it that way.
