There's a two or three minute scene that I saw on You Tube. Blanchett, amazingly, really did look like mid-60s Dylan. This realism was shattered when David Cross as Allen Ginsberg pulls up beside Dylan's car for an exchange. It looked like Cross' fake beard was about to fall off. Cross, being a brilliant comedy actor, made his few lines shine. All of a sudden, I'm laughing like I'm watching a Mr Show sketch.
Since I only saw three minutes, taken out of context from the other hundred or so minutes in the film, I won't bother to offer an opinion, other than to say that it stikes me as one of those films that need to be viewed with an open mind more than once to be appriciated, if one wants to bother. I suspect that I will want to bother.
