I'd agree with this. Funny thing is, I got into Boris through the Melvins, as I'm sure quite a few people have. I wasn't expecting to like them much. I thought they'd just be another generic Earth clone stoner rock band, but fuck, I went out and got Feedbacker and it totally blew me away like no Melvins album has ever done before.
Don't get me wrong, though, the Melvins still have their moments of greatness, but Boris' high points are just a bit higher and they're much more consistent than the Melvins imo.
