The Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard

Let me guess, he's also a VU fan & he was also inspired by The Raven by Lou Reed. From the author who wrote a fictional account of Tiny Tim's adult life, this one is set at West Point, NY in the 1830s when Poe attended the US Army Military Academy. A murder has been committed & Poe provides help to a detective in the form of coded acrostics that are discovered in the poems of a young woman who knew the murdered cadet.

The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl

This one fictionally explores the circumstances of Poe's final days. It features two characters named Auguste Duponte and Baron Dupin who are trying to solve the mystery of Poe's "perhaps premature death."
