THE INDUSTRY IS WACK. there i said it. the fashion industry is wack. the construction industry is wack. the gallery system is wack. art critics are wack. and the Museum of Modern Art is wack.
STYLE refers to a manner of understanding visual information in a variety of different media - film, print, oil on canvas, music, architecture, martial arts, professional basketball, clothing, dance, body language...
was basketball played differently before the globetrotters? or did the players just dress differently? either way - it's STYLE.
is a bogart movie different than a tarantino movie? that's STYLE.
is jackie chan different from jet-li? that's STYLE.
is a gothic cathedral different from a skyscraper? that's STYLE.
is jodi foster different than sandra bullock? that's STYLE.
say what you want about the industry... doesn't change the fact that whether you see it, recognize it, or acknowledge it... there's a thing called STYLE. and it controls the way you - Rob I. - see the world whether you think it's a crock of shit or you get wise and work it to yr advantage.
