My getting into them on the level I have was hastened by something entirely more individual. Having read them hyped in The Wire literally dozens of times, I stumbled upon six of their cds for dirt cheap in a pawn shop in Olympia. I hope whoever owned them first really enjoyed the heroin they got for these as much as I do the music.
What can I say, my faves on Warp are their most popular acts, as Squarepusher gets hyped plenty too, and Aphex Twin is the
only electronic artist many people listen to or have heard of. I'm obviously not that way with all music by any stretch, it's just a strange coincidence with this label (and I have heard plenty of other stuff, though alot of it seems pretty Aphex derivative at least at first listen).
Aphex would be my #3 (or maybe BOC, who are also huge), though you have to forgive him for a lot of material. That's what you get for being so prolific though.
