I have a suggestion for you, Chicago boy, if you want to be cheesy and romantic about your first date.
There's this church on the Loyola campus (on Sheridan Road) that's decrepit and deserted, jutting directly out over the lake. It sits alongside this sort of circular outdoor vestibule (I don't know how else to describe it) that looks out over the water and catches a good breeze. The church itself is beautiful, and the vestibule has these acoustics so that if you stand in certain spots, you either echo for miles or speak into a vacuum of sound.
I find it quite inspiring, anyhow.
