EDIT: I'll add that probably the most intense sound I ever heard was a Kaija Saariaho concert at the Royal Albert Hall, although seeing a sextet version of Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht last year was pretty amazing as well. Intense in the sense of being unable to breathe and wanting to collapse. Just to be clear.
