I often wonder if any groups ive listened to have utilised research on auditory perception to consciously influence the way the listener hears music simply by presenting certain sounds to certain channels.

The one i think of is "The Gift" by The Velvet Underground where they have one ear for the words and one for the music.
Because language centres in the brain are left-lateralised i wonder if they considered this when deciding which ear to present the vocals and if anyone else does.
