I have to say I find myself listening a lot less critically to unsigned stuff that's not guitar-based. I suspect that's because most of the musicians I know in the real world are in metal/ alt/ indie/ hardcore band, and I really hear far too much of that. But yeah, it's nice to hear someone doing bedroom electronica and not doing it badly.
