I understand what you mean, but honestly most of the times checking the lineage/equipment used and tapers' notes (when there are no samples to check) should give you an idea of the sound quality.
I have some audience recording better sounding than actual albums.
I'm talkin' 'bout a bunch of bands, not specifically SY shows.
