I read a very interesting article about the divide between rock music, which used to be an amalgasm of traditionally "black" and traditionally "white" musics (blues, country, rockabilly, soul, folk, R&B), and what are now "black" msuics, like hip hops and current R&B/soul, dance.

The writer talks about how this leaves the underground of rock deeply sterile, and deeply boring.

he also comments upon the impending death of rock and hip hop, for , in twenty to 40 years, the kids, the popular culture, will likely be listemning to music that in no way resembles the rock and hip hop of today, and there is really no way to guess what this will be like. very interesting stuff.
