Don't take the expression pedal back. Expression pedals rule. I have two on my board.
It would be cool if the the pedal would work right, the shifting alone is great.

It's a Line 6 and it sucks. The manual for the Stain says "for full range of shifting with expression pedal set the Amount knob to 12 o'clock" and set up like that the pedal only sweeps about 1/4 of the way. Plus, with the pedal plugged in, you can't vary the tremolo a lot and it fucks with the rate. The pedal might just be crummy. It feels cheap and is way too tight. I felt like I was going to break it the first time I stepped on it and once I heard what it did(n't) do and how it messed with all the other effects, I packed it back in the box to be returned within 14 days.
