bane in the animated series and bane in the comic books is completely different.
in the cartoons, he's like the x-men's juggernaut or the hulk, just mindless brutality; but on the comic book, sheeeet!! dude was scary, i remember reading it back in the day (at a store and putting it back on the shelf) and it really was fucked and disturbing for a comic.
