I would say "I think she means in open tunings you can make major chords with just one finger barr chords which is easier to do than to use 3 or 4 fingers to make a chord in standard tuning" but the last time I thought I knew what she meant I was wrong so fuck it.

Standard tuning isn't more or less difficult than any other tuning.. difficulty doesn't have equate into the mix, it all has to do with what you want to get out of your instrument. Obvious but true. I don't think laziness has a single thing to do with it.
