Here's one: USPS Priority Mail.

Priority!? Like, LOW priority?

Case in point: I mailed a paycheck to my bank in Iowa from SC on Monday. I normally use Express Mail, which for 16 bucks, in the past, has consistently gotten my mail to the bank in 24 hours. This time I didn't feel as urgent about getting the check there in only a day, but I did aim to have it deposited within a couple days, and I'm tired of paying 16 bucks to make a bank deposit (why I still bank in Iowa is a whole other consumer matter I'd rather not explore right now).

So... I opt for the $5 fee for the 2-3 day priority mail service (plus confirmation and tracking). When I looked up the online tracking on Wednesday only to learn my envelop had not yet been delivered, I noticed in fine print that USPS advertises only "an average of 2-3 days" for this service. People, it's no better than regular first class mail. I sent it Monday and it did not get delivered until today! What a sham.
