if you're going for a PC, there's no better than lenovo-- used to be ibm-- their T series thinkpads are awesome & built like a tank.
there are expen$$ive though.
whatever you buy, if you want quality, then buy a business-class laptop-- dell precision, for example.
consumer grade laptops are cheap, but also flimsy, they cough up blood, they work ok on your table but don't travel well, etc.
