I remember a newspaper interview (I think it was in The Guardian) when the interviewer challanged him on his politics (this was during his radical 'vowels are fascist!' phase) and he just mumbled inaudibly, made an excuse why he needed to walk off, walked off, and then returned a few minutes later and changed the subject to the interviewer's favourite films.
