there are hundreds upoj hundreds of millions of dolars invested in government backed securities to pay for social security benefits. we all (citizens) contribute to it every paycheck. they have tried for years now to take that capital, which they see as pointless if not invested in the national "public" economy, and privatize social security, allowing lehman bros and AIG and sahcs goldman and thos firms to use the MONEY as capital to invest, which would make them billions and risk the collecte money of the citizenry at the whims of wall street.
