i agree absolutely with what you said about looking at the brighter side of things, but for me it's nearly impossible to take things this way. seeing my dad holding down tears at the christmas supper table (just the two of us, my brother no more lives with us, he's got his own family now) is something i can't really bear.
but it's just one day in 365, so it always passes quickly.
