I am pretty picky about sound design though.. So, I dunno. Maybe I'll listen again closely all the way through, to make sure I'm not hallucinating!

The band have only ever been recorded WELL in one case I can think of, when Steve McDonald recorded 'Bicycle Bicycle' and 'Girls On TV' for the
Summer Sensation EP. If I remember, Universal/Ecstatic Peace used this superior EP recording of 'Bicycle Bicycle' when they released it as a single, instead of the earlier, poor quality recording on the album (which was strangely recorded by the same producer and engineer, huh). The drum sound is fantastic on the EP recording, the bass is nice and clear through the scratchy guitar, and Jemina does her thing as usual. If you can get hold of the EP, you should.
Get Awkward isn't really that well recorded and I would agree that the production is too 'commercial rock' sounding- I doubt they'd sink so low as using protools, though. Haters might like to think this band are idiots, but they are most definitely not.. they're in the vein of Descendents, Bad Brains, et al rather than Green Day and Limp Bizkit.
If you wanted to hear this band, you had to hear them live. Like The Sonics, or Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They rock too hard for CDs and Wax to comprehend.

Exactly. Marty, you need to get off your elitist high horse and stop acting like you're too intelligent for rock and roll.
