me thoughts:

mouthus: yes, slow gloves is very awesome, totally worth getting; the first one is a little more unfocused but still packs a good punch. the new one, the long salt, i recommend highly.

man is the bastard: i've heard very little but i can say they are very good.

born against: i could never get into them, to me, they are too generic, especially when people compare them to angel hair and antioch arrow, which can't be further from the fact. i recommend you check out life's blood, which is one of the dude's from born against's band before ba, it's way better in my opinion.

high rise: ohh my god!!! they rule!!! also, mainliner and musica transonic worth checking if you get into hr.

wooden wand: contrary to what has been stated, they are not the epitome of lameness in the underground (there are things a million times worse), they go from pretty cool background music to ok explorations. xiao and darkness on the edge of town and l'un marquer... are pretty cool. flood is supposed to be really great but i haven't heard it.

bardo pond: it's been said but bufo alvarius, amanita, LAPSED and, for a mellower sound, dilate; actually, try and check out their not so available stuff like their vol. series (there's a compilation of their volumes 1 thru 4) since their experimental stuff shines as much as the official albums.

isis: get oceanic, then proceed. some people don't like the doomier early stuff, and some don't like their cleaner evolution on their panopticon album, but some do. i know i do.

anaal nathrakh: i heard domine non es dignus and i can't say i loved it, i might give it a second chance, but to me it was kinda like bland, keyboard-driven black metal, not too good.

polvo: today's active lifestyles!!!

cccc: very good, i only have cosmic coincidence control center and i'm told it's one of their worse albums, but it's really great.

front 242: dancy 80's industrial like nitzer ebb, front line assembly, skinny puppy, etc. except skinny puppy are way better than any of those bands, since they always had an edge and never tried to go for a hit single.

pissed jeans: not very impressed, sounds like the bulk of mid 90's amp rep records.

mountain: are we talking leslie west's mountain from the 60's/70's? then i've heard some good stuff, very boogie oriented hard rock from the era, kinda like cream but more rocking.

nurse with wound: haven't heard enough to really recommend.

throbbing gristle: same as nww

saccharine trust: interesting post punk band from sst, pagan icons is short but sweet, sort of like wire, gang of four (minus the funky bassist) and the fall but with a bit more edge.

tar babies: i have the mastertapes compilation where they appear, they are cool but not earth shattering; midwestern hardcore.

meat puppets: meat puppets II is awesome; i just got into them.

discharge: hear nothing, see nothing, say nothing

blind idiot god: s/t, which is all i've heard so far, it's awesome.

smegma: nattering naybobs of negativity

redman: kinda lame rapper

pelican: the fire in our throats will beckon the thaw!!!

borbetomagus: barbed wired maggots

peter brötzmann: machine gun

vibracathedral: versatile arab chord chart!!

ash ra temple: 1971's s/t (i haven't really gotten into them yet) you can download it here (you'll need to search for it): http://8daysinapril.blogspot.com/ (hurry because this blog is about to be shut down)

fushitsusha: t&b is definitely the expert here.

amon düül II: yeti and tanz der lemming

loop: anything you can get, definitely worth it!

ride: nowhere

serena maneesh: i really don't see why people like this band, very second rate shoegazer reenactors.

black flag: get damaged first, then the first four years compilation, then my war, then proceed at your own risk.

mission of burma: definitely start with vs.

butthole surfers: in my opinion, get locust abortion technician and go backwards, ignore everything beyond locust abostion...

khanate: they are not that groundbreaking and definitely very dificult to get into. things viral seems to be their masterpiece.
