It works both ways, though. It's true that a nice looking person might not always be the most interesting, but in saying that there is also a certain sentimental way in which people generally tend to portray those blessed with less than Adonis-like looks, and it smacks of patronising hypocrisy. The truth is always in the middle.

Besides, people who have some sort of physical deficiency can be just as irritating when they go on about what they should be doing about their looks as those who have the good genes.
