here, the Sonic Youth message board. I've a lot of people mention Muse in "worst band ever" lists.
Yes, Muse are pretty much a screamo version of Radiohead, but I find them to be one of the more entertaining mainstream bands. I think that about Maroon 5 as well.
Here's another one many people may disagree with: Coldplay's first two albums helped define the early to mid 2000s for me. It's been VERY downhill since, but A Rush of Blood to the Head is a masterpiece.
