It's pretty fucking horrible. I've stayed up with her all night while she screams in pain and at times even been tempted to drive her to the ER. As I mentioned before, her only solution to her sciatica is to not do manual labor or hard psychical activity - which has resulted in her loosing a lot of the muscle definition that she worked years to build, gaining weight, suffering from even shittier health as well as having to quit her job (she worked in the catering business for eight or nine years)...it's been hell. Even her desk job now makes it act up.
So yeah, cheaper medicine might work sometimes, but not in all cases. It's not fair that she can't access drugs.
...that being said, I wish I had not sold that half bottle of pain killers I had on me a few years ago
