here's an example of a party planned via facebook...
i planned a 20 year punk rock "scene" reunion back in june. it spanned high school graduates from about 1985 - 1991. there were a few of those people that i didn't know, but via facebook we could find them all (or find someone who still talked to them). and everyone made it to the party.. from as far away as cali, NJ and georgia. it was also helpful because you could RSVP via facebook or RSVP for someone else. it gave skeptical people the incentive to attend because they could see who was actually coming. you wouldn't get that with email, written invites or the phone.
