agreed. I thought for a while that I could no longer stand banksy, and then I realized it was this whole stenciling sub-culture that he spawned that I can't stand. banksy has done a lot of cool stuff that aren't stencils also, but the stencil aspect of his work has bled into entire communities. which I guess from his point of view it might seem pretty cool. for me, i can't tell the difference between a real artist or a hack when it comes to stencils, because you don't know which ones labored over an idea for hours in photoshop or whatever to create the idea in their head, and which ones found a stencil website and maybe combined a few of them to make some "ironic" image. and when you see blog after blog of "amazing street art," it all starts looking the same (not ALL of it; obviously there are some great street artists out there; use Stumble, and you will see what I am talking about).
