and 2000 years of history have pointed out its several fundamental vulnerabilities to corruption. But hey, nothing is perfect. Its just that there are very many more proactive ways to get directly involved in our communities than voting (not to say you do not already do that, this is rhetorically speaking) and I prefer folks get involved that way.
