i have no idea how they're counting, what they're counting, but isn't the change of the prevalent age-group infected with the disease enough to draw a conclusion?
during normal seasonal influenza most hospitalizations occur among persons less than 2 years of age or 65 years of age or older - at least this is what i read on that journal.
this is different from what is being observed now, at least from what i recall reading on the press.
