As a fashion, I used to dress REALLY goth, and it slowly crept out of my wardrobe. What's generally thought of as goth nowadays had too little to do with what I was into....if you go to a goth club in my city, it's not Bauhaus or the Sisters of Mercy playing, it's VNV Nation or Combichrist. Terrible terrible music, and the people there were just...the worst. And all those hideous clothes! All the pvc and wings and fake dreadlocks...ugh. Was never about that to me, I just loved the music...and without even that I left the scene behind. I dress pretty plainly now. I can't imagine going back to that stuff, though now I DJ my own goth night here, without all the tackiness, drama, and stupid shit that follows goths around. It's much better.

I couldn't agree more. I'm old school goth. Would you say The Cramps were old school goth?
