I agree, but plenty of us do. And who the fuck can pretend your kid is sick to get off work? He is for real way too much of the time, to dare pretend it. I've had virtually no leave left since I've had a child, that's just the way it goes (moreso if you have a crazy partner you have to rescue every now and again, but that's another story I'm completely tired of).
Men, and women, who don't take an active role in raising their child are seriously missing out on a totally wonderful part of life (diapers and 3-4 am feedings and all!)
