I have a Peavy Delta Blues, 2X10, 30 watts. Real solid, cheap in cost only, tube amp. BUT i had problems initially after about 2 or 3 months. I was getting this static and unwanted disturbance while idle. So i went out and got new power tubes. No. the problem is still there. WTF? then came the new 12AX7 pre-amp tubes. problem solved. It's quiet as church mouse and new tubes all round sound fucking great. i love tube amps!

Did you get your amp rebiased when you put the new powertubes in? Otherwise your powertubes could have a short life expectancy.

well its self biasing, or cathode biased, so it doesn't need it. and i'm gladder for it. i have other amps that need rebiasing like my old fender deluxe, but never did that..probably should.

My amp has a really annoying whistling noise that rings when I play with a clean lead. It's on a certain frequency that really invades my ears and makes playing undoable. Pissssses me off.
