I was really hoping for Sonic Youth to play this, but I think Tokyo got a really great lineup. My three favorite Japanese bands are playing, Boredoms, Melt Banana, and Boris, along with Godspeed (I'm sort of getting into them, though I can't decide if I'm going to love em or think it's a bit melodramatic), Dirty Three (I haven't seen them since I saw them open for Pavement in 95), and Keiji Haino who everyone here seems to rave about.
What do you guys think about this lineup and would you be excited see it? I'm super GENKI, but I sort of wish one band like Sonic Youth, Melvins, or Liars were there to represent the USA... and I wish it weren't on a Sunday and 10 hours away (by bus) from where I live! Godspeed Boredoms Dirty Three Fuck Buttons Boris Envy Autolux Melt Banana Keiji Haino |

Hat and Bread, I just watched your awesome video in the park with the crazy instruments! So neat!
I'm going to three concerts in three days in Tokyo (Dec. 18-20). Ooioo+ others, Ltd Express has gone + many others (a festival for a fallen Fukuoka noise rocker woman that died of cancer), and toe + others. I'm going alone before travelling back to the US for Christmas. Let me know if you're going to check any of these out! |

Thanks.
That OOIOO / Incapacitants show looks nice, but I have a bonenkai for work that evening. Probably won't be able to make it. I think we'll be back in Yoyogi Park with more crazy instruments on the 19th, though. Track us down if you have time. |
