The Keep A Breast Foundation Joined by Musicians Iggy Pop, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and DEVO in Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign eBay Auction Will Feature 50 Painted Breast Casts, Burlesque Stars, Pink Balls and More Last update: 7:06 p.m. EDT Oct. 16, 2008 OCEANSIDE, CA, Oct 16, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- The Keep A Breast Foundation will celebrate its 8th anniversary with an auction of one-of-a-kind celebrity painted breast casts and today's hottest online accessory, limited edition pink balls from SocialVibe.com. Proceeds will help to eradicate breast cancer by increasing awareness and inspiring youth to adopt lifestyle choices with long-term health benefits. The auction will be live from October 18-28 at www.ebay.com/keepabreast. Over 50 painted busts will be up for bid, including busts from top burlesque performers Julie Atlas (Muse Miss Exotic World 2006) and Tigger (first ever best boylesque) painted by rock stars Iggy Pop, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO. Husband and wife artists Annie Owens and Attaboy from Hi-Fructose painted a husband and wife team from Pinchbottom burlesque. Other notable casts featured will be professional surfers Jen Smith and Kassia Meador, Amber Everson of the Glossines, Kristin Gundred of the Grand Ole Party, and several San Diego breast cancer survivors. Word of mouth guide MojoPages.com will help in driving traffic to the auction in support of Keep A Breast. Additionally, Keep A Breast has greatly expanded its audience online through a partnership with SocialVibe.com as one of its newest charities. During October on eBay's Giving Works, the company's signature Pink Balls will bear the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon and a limited edition of 50 will be numbered and auctioned off with all proceeds benefitting Keep A Breast. "Partnering with Keep A Breast allows young people on SocialVibe to feel actively invested in a cause that may not directly affect them. For the first time ever, our members will have the opportunity to purchase a SocialVibe pink ball rather than earn it with a limited edition version. We're thrilled to be raising money for KAB, who strongly empowers the next generation with knowledge and tools of prevention," said Dave Levy, VP of Strategic Partnerships at SocialVibe.com. About Keep A Breast The Keep A Breast Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization working to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support. Through art events, educational programs and fundraising efforts we seek to increase breast cancer awareness among young people so they are better equipped to make choices and develop habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being.
