My friend Rachel asked me to go on a date with her this Valentines Day, but I laughed, because I thought she was joking. I think she was actually being serious. Another time was when a girl asked me for my number and I laughed, again, and told her to fuck off. I thought she was joking too. I'm just a big dickhead.

don't take self deprecation too far, young padawan.

when my brother was a teenager he'd come across as a prick because he was shy and he didn't say hello to people, why they were thinking "what an asshole, he saw me and didn't even say hello"

eventually he came out of his shell. he's now some kind of corporate big shot.

I don't think it's down to shyness, I just don't realise what is happening until long after the initial conversation.

here is something I learned way too late to do me much good

A girl is not going to smile at you unless she likes you. They do not smile to be polite.

a girl that initiates conversations with you definitely likes you (at least a little) or at worst, does not find you UN-attractive.

a girl that asks you out is almost NEVER kidding, and if she is she is "pretend" kidding and hoping you do not embarrass her by saying no.

and there is always a second chance.

if you as mentioned above, (and believe me I did it for years without realizing I was shooting myself in the foot), make an error and realize it later, you can always go back and bring it up again, and she will be glad you remembered and thought enough of her to bring it back up!

Just a little wisdom that no one ever bothers to tell many of us non-alpha, asshole type guys.

I made the absolute worst missed connection ever tonight. Oh man. I am sober too so its even worse. This full-on, 10/10 smokin' babe-raham lincoln was coming on to me in some bar, like, rubbing me and everything, completely X-rated and ridiculous, and all the while I was just thinking, "Oh man. What does this woman even want? I don't even know her."

So eventually she just gave up and left, and then I was like OH SHIT I KNOW WHAT SHE WANTED. Damnnnn. She was like 20 or something, too, it was absolutely absurd. Oh wow. I need an award for the worst ladies-man failure on earth. Ever.
