i have to say I liked Slave Ambient, the War on Drugs' 2011 album. It was gripping and energetic and fun, but hasn't this song been done before?

It reminds me so completely of a song by either Bruce Springsteen or Dire Straits. Maybe "the walk of life" by DS? I don't know. It's good, but not new.

Anybody feel similarly?

Yeh, I like this band. One of the few newer bands I like.
