90% on the Beatles! Most of the questions were co simple a casual fan could have answered them, the others requires having read a shit ton of trivial crap.
Onward... |

Oh my god, the one I got wrong was an error. I meant to select "My Sweet Lord" and somehow hit "Another Day" instead.
Still, my 90% stands. I should have paid closer attention. |

Ok these quizzes are weird.
95% on Nirvana because of this question: "Which song gave Nirvana their only US #1 hit? a) SLTS b) Pennyroyal Tea c) CAYA" Quiz says: Pennyroyal Tea.... (???) Well, the correct answer is "NONE" or "none of the above" depending on your perspective. Nirvana never had a Billboard hot 100 #1 Single. Never. They had five or six no. 1s on the Alternative music and AirPlay charts, but never a proper number 1 single. I picked "Smells like teen spirit" knowing it would be wrong but curious to find out what they thought the right answer was. Pennyfuckingroyal Tea? What am I missing here? |

I ran the Beatles quiz by my father (our first conversation in weeks) just to make sure there were no WTF moments like that fucked Nirvana question that I can't think of any explanation for.
... and my dad, biggest Beatle fan I know, got an 80%. He was particularly irked by the question about who tailored the suits for the Abbey Road cover. Admittedly, I only go that one right because I knew it wasn't Tom Ford, and Tommy Cooper was a freaking comedian: Having spent so much of my working life dealing with stats and the validity of various tests and measurements, I can say with pretty good authority that these quizzes don't offer a valid representation of one's knowledge of the subject matter. So dont fret if you did poorly. I think the Ramones quiz is the only other one that I might do well on. I don't even need to bother with the Pink Floyd test, or anything like that, because I know I don't have a chance. |

Thank you! The question itself is wrong, so all the bloody answers are fucked too. And I refuse to retake it and intentionally give a bullshit answer. It's kind of infuriating. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" hit #6, Lithium hit #64, Come As You Are hit #32 and "You Know You're Right" hit somewhere in the 40's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those are the only US singles that Nirvana charted on the general Billboard Hot 100. |

Only missed one Dylan question
Beatles score was so low it won't be published here. 80 on Johnny Cash Bailed on the Pink Floyd 65 on Bruce Springsteen 60 on UK No.1's From The 60's Quiz (the one with the record, above T Rex) Just bailed on two more in a row. These are a bitch. I quit. |

music may be meant for listening but music collecting is much more than that.
