A 266-pound man was shot in the stomach and survived - because he's so fat.

Chilean doctors say the victim's rolls of fat stopped the bullet getting to his vital organs - acting as a bulletproof vest.

A thinner person would have been killed immediately.

The 33-year-old had been driving his bus when an armed man got on and started robbing passengers.

When he tried to grab the weapon the attacker fired twice. One of the bullets lodged in his stomach
