Very little. I have my doubts regarding them doing much as a band. I do see random solo/collaborative material.
Thurston really seems to be pushing this Ecstatic Peace literature thing. Honestly, I'm more excited about it than I am the E Peace album releases. Most def. can see Thurston still doing something w/ that. |

I looked into the crystal ball and this is what I saw:
In next 20 years they're gonna release six albums as a Sonic Youth (one collection, 2 albums of experimental stuff, 3 "normal" albums). Thurston's putting out several solo albums and collaboration stuff with Mats Gustafsson and others, about eight or nine releases at least, maybe more. Lee gets finally out his solo album and releases another one soon after the first, but after that there's gonna be many years without any new stuff from Lee. Kim makes one album with Free Kitten. Steve does a lot of music with his other (upcoming) bands and projects, and plays on Thurston's solo albums as well. |

Thurston Moore is probably going to tell everyone who cares about how he still listens to music exclusively on tape.

SY will pool their resources to purchase a controlling interest in Geffen Records.
They will drop most of the acts and concentrate on free jazz/noise/musique concrete acts. Due to innovative and aggressive marketing, sales go through the roof. Geffen stock quickly triples in value, and continues to rise. In an unprecedented move, the Nobel Committee creates a special prize for "Record Label Management" for the sole purpose of bestowing the prize on SY. The members sell out and use their trillions of dollars to prevent America from being taken over by Bolivia, which in the previous 20 years has become a powerful force to be reckoned with. The only problem I see with this scenerio is that it remains to be seen if record labels will even exist 20 years from now. |

They will still be composing rock music, but getting other people who don't have arthritic fingers to play it.

Hey the Stones are all in their 60's now, Charlie will be 70 next year, so in 20 years they could still be touring!
